The word "Grid" of grid computing, is an analogy of the electric power grid. Electric power is available just by plugging into the grid. Likewise, the objective of grid computing is to make various forms of computing services available to anyone, anytime, and anywhere. This vision should be achieved firstly by linking together all the networked information resources such as computers, databases, applications and measuring devices. Secondly, their processing results will be made available in various forms of standardized computing services. The users of these services are completely unaware of the underlying computing mechanisms while using the services they need. They will pay a reasonable amount of money for each particular service instead of making huge investments for the processing system itself. Grid technology will make these things possible through integrating the various infrastructural technologies such as security, resource management, networking, and portals.
